Patina vs Underpriced: Antique Identification and Pricing Apps Compared
Two apps called Underpriced price items for resale by the scan. Patina identifies and values antiques from sold prices with unlimited scans. Here's how they compare.
The short answer: If you sell a high volume of everyday secondhand goods and want listing tools built into every scan, the Underpriced apps are worth a look. If you want to understand antiques and vintage pieces, including their maker, era and condition, and value them from real sold prices without counting scans, Patina is the better fit. We make Patina, and the Underpriced details below come from each company's own published pages as of October 2026.
There are two apps called Underpriced
Two separate companies use the Underpriced name, and they aren't affiliated with each other:
- Underpriced AI (Underpriced AI LLC) identifies items from photos, shows recent sales with links and can publish listings directly to eBay or Bonanza. Plans start at $5 a month for 30 scans, and scan packs start at $3 for 5 scans.
- Underpriced (Underpriced.App) drafts listings you post yourself. Plans start at $9.99 a month for 75 analyses, and new users get 5 free analyses.
Where Patina differs
- Patina doesn't meter your scans. Patina's subscription includes full access, so you can scan a whole estate sale table without watching a counter.
- Patina explains the object. Each result covers the maker, era, materials and condition, which helps when you're dealing with antiques and family pieces rather than everyday resale stock.
- Patina values from completed sales. Patina's values come from completed sales on eBay, Chairish and 1stDibs, which cover everything from thrift finds to high-end antiques.
- Selling is optional. Patina recommends where a piece would sell best and writes a listing when you want one, and plenty of people use Patina simply to understand what they own.
